Walnut Tree farm offers en-suite accommodation in a newly converted barn. Rooms are comfortable and airy with tea and coffee making facilities, some rooms are equipped with self catering facilities also.
Walnut Tree Farm has extensive gardens with seating and BBQ area for guests to use, there is also a large pond with ducks and geese that welcome anyone to sit and feed them.
Walnut Tree Farm is situated in the small village of Kučeř in South Bohemia, Czech Republic which is surrounded by forest and picturesque countryside. The towns of Milevsko, Pisek, Tabor and Strakonice are close by and make pleasant day trips for guests.
Walnut Tree Farm guest house makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, anglers and anyone who enjoys spending time outside.
Kučeř sits near the banks of the famous Orlik reservoir which is known for its large stock of carp, catfish and many other species of fish.
Walnut Tree Farm's rural location and limited public transport to and from Kučeř village mean a car or some other means of private transport will enhance guests experience and ability to visit the many castles and picturesque towns & villages in the area although if you wish to stay close by we can arrange pick-up from nearby bus & train stations and even from Prague airport by prior agreement.
Their are many local pubs and restaurants in the villages near Walnut Tree Farm and Kučeř is home to a small restaurant within 70meters of the farms gate.
Orlík Reservoir. The Orlik Reservoir is one of the best fishing waters in the Czech Republic, is very well stocked and the variety of species makes it possible to use many different techniques. The Reservoir is best known due to catches of Catfish and other predatory species. In 2002, 117,182 fish were registered as caught and their total weight was 213,124kg: Carp: 62,532, Catfish: 731, Zander: 5,954 and Pike: 1,908.
The banks of the Reservoir are approx. 300km in length and characterised by steep forested slopes with rock outcrops and small beaches which make ideal spots from which to cast. The Reservoir is 2,732ha in total and runs 68km along the Vltava river, 7km along the Luznice river and 22km along the Otava river. Of this area there is 2,300ha available to anglers.
Due to the size of this water the use of boats is recommended. Fishing is permitted in the Reservoir all year round but predatory species are protected from 1st January to 15th June.

The castles of Zvikov and Orlik are easily accessible, Zvikov being only 5km from the farm. A regular ferry boat travels between the castles on the beautiful Orlik reservoir. The reservoir and its rivers provide an abundance of catfish and carp for the keen angler. It is also worth mentioning Zvikov has its own brewery!
Located on the banks of the gold-bearing Otava river is the historic town of Pisek which is only a 20 minute drive from the farm. Pisek has many buildings of architectural significance, a museum and the famous bridge over the Otava. Closer to the farm is the small town of Milevsko which claims to have the oldest Monastery in Southern Bohemia; the grounds also house a very interesting museum.
